Introduction [The TL;DR]

I’m a highly passionate, motivated and curious person. These three aspects of who I am represent what I like to do the most: explore. This coupled with my mind not liking to be left in idle makes me always working on numerous projects / ideas simultaneously. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I can remember touching a computer, which was before I could even articulate properly. In particular, I’ve had one question that has been bugging me since I could remember: How do computers work? I wanted to know everything about how those green chips that took in electricity let me browse the internet, play Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005 Black Edition, listen to music, connect and disconnect to the Wi-Fi, make a beep noise when I pressed shift 5 times, open two YouTube videos at the same time and literally everything else. To get the answer to this, I decided to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Frustratingly, this quest has left me with way more questions than answers. However, because I like to learn about new ideas and see the beautiful way everything is interconnected, this quest has made me greatly appreciate how humanity has progressed as a whole. I’ve begun to piece together a rough answer to the question I’ve always had, but I fear it may never be answered in total. Despite fully knowing this, I still desire to completely understand how a computer works. During this globetrotting of figuring out the answer, I wish to contribute to the scientific and technological community by working on new (and possibly radical) ideas that would bring interesting developments to the world.

History:

I began to write some code in 7th grade, when I was taught BASIC. I found it quite fascinating that computers could do the things I’d tell it to do and remembered wanting to do more. In 8th grade, I was introduced to the basics of C. During this time, I began to make “complex” programs that weren’t taught in school. They probably would seem primitive to a person with a bit of understanding of how programming works, but I spent easily a few hours trying to make a program that determined whether or not you were cool based on your preference of cheese. After two years, I was taught C++ in my 11th grade. This is when I discovered my true interest in computers. I tried to understand as much as possible about how computers worked, how the Operating System handled so many programs concurrently and how all the components of a computer worked in harmony to provide a seamless experience. In the meantime, I wrote multiple programs in TurboC++ that involved <graphics.h> which you can find two of at the bottom of ~/projects. I have bounced around a lot wandering from one computer domain to another before finally settling at what I believe my interests finally are (see below).

What I Want To Do:

My current interests dwell in the realm of Operating Systems, Computer Networks, High Performance Computing + Distributed Systems and Compiler Design. Being perpetually intrigued by the workings of the computer, it only makes sense that these domains would be the ones to excite me the most. Going forward, I envision myself in a research environment working on difficult problems, breaking fundamental ideas core to computing and building them back up. My plans for the future are to learn more and explore as much as I can. I wish to eventually obtain a doctorate.

What I Am Doing Now:

I am studying my Master’s Degree in Computer Science at TU Graz, Austria. Check out my ‘professional’ website sudneela.github.io.

I’ve recently finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Mahindra École Centrale, Hyderabad. For the next few months, I want to take a break and work on a few projects I’ve been meaning to work on for sometime before I decide what I want to do next. I’ve had a quite interesting past few months, details of which can be found at my ~/blog. I also recently “made” a cryptocurrency.

What I Am Doing, Right Now:

Thinking about Life, the Universe and Everything.

Hobbies:

I like to play the Keyboard, the Guitar and listen to music. I’ve been playing for a long time and am majorly self taught. I like to read books and read manga (Japanese Comics). The genre I usually read is fantasy. I like to watch a lot of anime and my favorite is Your Lie In April because it’s an amalgamation of happiness, saddness and classical music. I play way too much minecraft and am the server operator of the minecraft server of my University.

I also like talking a lot about technology. Scratch that to I like talking a lot in general. If possible, I try to break down electronic devices to see what’s inside. I Reddit a lot. A lot. Unhealthy amounts possibly.

Winry:

This is Winry

Winry, a beautiful desktop # 1

Winry, back when I had one monitor. Yes, this is slighty over exposed. Yes, there is a lot of unicorn vomit. No, I don't use use the RGB on max normally. It's toned down to 20% brightness.

Winry, when I got a second monitor.

A picture of when the desktop went to the bottom. I was scared that it would fall over the edge of the table.

My current setup ft. a new monitor (sniped from my dad), a big mousepad and a nice lil calendar found here. (The desktop is still at the bottom)
