The intent of this webpage is to serve as an immutable record of the final discussion between the server operators of MECCraft, a Minecraft server, where the decision to transfer complete administrative control was made. At the time before the transfer, the server operators, henceforth referred to as “The Previous Server Operators”, are (listed in alphabetical order):

The newly appointed server operators, henceforth referred to as “The Newly Appointed Server Operators”, as decided by The Previous Server Operators are (listed in alphabetical order):

The points to be kept in mind for a new candidate:

  • needs to know how to launch / maintain a server.
  • one of the admins needs to be willing to fund server if required.
  • needs to know how to play minecraft, obviously
  • should be capable enough to handle disputes and be ready to take responsibility and/or action in the event of a dispute

This list of points is (mostly) not final. These are merely guidelines to open the discussion.

12:46 NobleKnight12It’s been a great time for me to have served as admin for the MECcraft server. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 2 years of MC we played and all the versions we played with. I still remember the day IceCereal had the idea of starting a minecraft server on his raspberry pi for MEC. What great plans we had. All I can hope for is the new team of admins carry the same spirit forward because the three main admins really keep the spirit of Minecraft alive. That being said I’m probably not going to leave this group until I die, minecraft is my life idk what I would’ve done without this game honestly.

Thanks for playing on MECraft. It was a little idea of IceCereal back in April 2020 to make it online, and before that of NobleKnight12 and IceCereal, back in Oct 2019, on LAN. I of course generously sponsored with my (then) oil (now) crypto money and thus began a community where we met all sorts of people from our college and overseas to create an incredible experience.

I think we pogged hard. Time to pogchamp the future or something like that!
